Loved this game until 11/2015 - now it won’t load without disabling WIFI?

I absolutely loved this game until 11/2015. Sometime during that month the game just stopped opening. I can get to the splash screen, but the game crashes after that. Nothing else has been loaded onto my iMac. I looked online and other people speculate it has to do with the game trying to update. I followed the directions to bypass the update sequence, but the only thing that works is turning off my WIFI. That means no more updates. Oh, and the game now crashes mid fight… so, I guess I am going to uninstall and reinstall?

Before all that? Fantastic game. Gorgeous graphics, great story line, decent interaction (would be better with a dedicated controller), and really good cut-scenes. I really want to play this game again. Hopefully, Feral Interactive will find a way to send an update through the Mac App Store to fix this issue once and for all.
