Batman: Arkham City GOTY App Reviews

Initially I had a great time playing the game and it ran well for the most part. However lately everytime I open the game it unexpectedly quits on me. This is frustrating!!!! I didn’t pay for this!!!

I have more than the minimum requirements to run this game and did so ONCE! Game will not startup ever since.

Batman Arkham City is a exellent game its really fantastic it has really good graphics with many new features. This game is much more beyond Batman Arkham Assylum, and I find it cool that they included the (Extra Edition, which is better then the normal edition.) This game is defneatly a buy for those who arent sure, however they should update it soon to a higher version to fix the crush downs, because I had it a few times and it might loose that what has been complete by you).( The % completed by you) Besides that this game is exellent, enyoy the game everyone!!!

It kept saying I didnt buy it after waiting 5 hours over and over, The First time I downloaded it my macbook shut off because of low battery, The second time I waited for the full thing to download (AGAIN) and it said something about Failed to Verify Purchase please reinstall at the app store, So I do that. And what do you know another 5 hours goes buy… Same messege…. Im going to try one more time if it doesnt work this time then I dont know what to do…. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

This is an amazing game. It works flawlessly on my MacBook Pro (Retina). I think you need to have a newer mac for it to run well, but if you do, its amazing.

I just finished the game, and I encountered no problems whatsoever. I ran it on a MacBook Pro, and it did not lag as I feared it would (though I ensured I didnt have any programs open while playing), nor did I lose my save progress. The installation time was a tad long, and the battery drains quite fast when playing but it was well worth it in the end, and I have a feeling Ill be playing this game again! If youre looking for a great game, I would recommend this wholeheartedly!

Having played this game for a few weeks, I can safely say that it is a great game. The graphics are unreal on my Mac and it runs very smoothly too. The only reason why this game is getting bad reviews is because you do need a very recent one in order to make it play, in some cases it can not be over a year old. But I love it!

This game is great fun! I enjoyed it immensly and am still collecting Riddler Trophies! :) I defintly recommend it!

Thanks to Feral for porting this game to Mac! Quite a steal at half price! I love how the world is open and the stories aren’t linear. There are so many characters but the game balances them nicely. The game runs great on my 2013 27” iMac with only the occasional stutter. My only beef is that it’s use of the third mouse button didn’t work correctly at first with my Logitech mouse. Even Feral’s instructions didn’t work. I ended up having to tell the mouse driver to assign the middle button as “button 3” and then it worked. I will definitely be looking at other Feral games, especially the other Batman game they did.

I lolve the gameply and storyline. It provides hours of entertainment for the Batman fan. Something that consistenly upsets me about this Batman franchise is how horribly the female characters are written, the dramatic oversexualizing, and also how horrible the dialogue towards the female characters is. It is a shame becasue they are among the more interesting characters. Problematic, yes. Good game? Yes. I wish there was more interaction with the environment aside from scrambling about searching for riddler trophies. As long as you’re within the story though it holds your attention wonderfully.

Having played this game on the PS3, I can say, without a doubt, that the game has been very carefully ported over to the Mac. The visuals are stunning, the gameplay is very smooth. The game also supports console controllers. I’ve played the game with a PS3 controller long enough to say that it runs incredibly smooth and the user won’t go wrong using either a mouse and keyboard or a controller. As for the game itself, it is just incredible. I’ve been a huge fan of the Arkham games, Arkham City being my favourite. I would say that if you’re a fan of the Arkham games and your Mac is capable of handling this game, it is a MUST BUY!

I’m running Yosemite, on a fairly new iMac. I got pretty far in the game, but it was crashing intermitently. Then, when I was half way through the game, it crashed 3 times in a row, and after the 3rd time, my saved game slot was empty. Very dissapointing.

I am running Yosemite in a mid 2014 MacBook Pro Retina. The game freezes in the initial screen. Please, fix this!

I’ve installed, deleted, re-installed about three times now, everytime I do… I get an error message about the GameEngine.ini file being missing. What’s the solution here?

Does not start up on Yosemite. Deleted everything, tried again, same result :(

The latest update totally broke the game. It doesn’t get past the opening logo before crashing. I’ve tried re-installing, re-starting, turning off wi-fi, signing out and in of game centre, and it’s very clear this is port/OS issue. I’m running an MBP 15” Retina, so there’s no reason this game shouldn’t work. In the last 2 years of owning, it’s only ever crashed once, so this new issue is definitely a game issue. Feral support are not very helpful, and seem to be ok with fooling the customer into thinking that’s it’s the user’s problem, not theirs. The latest update details even state specifically that it was meant to address a crashing issue. Nice work. [This game is still amazing, even after having played parts of Arkham Knight - obviously the visuals are getting to be slightly dated, but since they were second to none at the time, they still hold up well. Once, MAYBE twice ever, the game has crashed, but patches have been pushed out relatively quickly. One time, there was a weird texture pop-in issue where an entire segment of the city map wasn’t properly loaded, but I think it had more to do with the fact that I had closed my macbook while the game was running, and sleeping your computer while playing a game is basically like spinning a child in circles for 5 minutes and telling them to walk a tight-rope - there’s a remote chance you’ll get the result you want, but you’re insane if you get mad for it not working out. That reminds me - to all you “reviewers” who can’t get the game to run well. If your system specs are the bare minimum, you can expect the game to run poorly. Turn the graphics and resolution settings way down and you should be fine, otherwise, stop complaining. If the game keeps crashing for you, but no one else, it’s probably less to do with the game, and more to do with the state of your own machine. Do a clean install. Check for malware. Do any number of things before you angrily write a review that helps no one. You won’t get any feedback or learn anything from writing something on the app store. Google it. /endrant My final thoughts - a lot of people dismiss the Arkham games because they are about a superhero, and those types of games don’t have the best trackrecord. If you’ve never played an Arkham series game, spend the money, and buy both this one, and Arkham Asylum - then if you have the oppurtunity, try Arkham Knight for Xbox One/PS4. These are some of the best games ever made, no joke.]

please add ps4 dual shock controller so that we can all experience it way more better than xbox gamepad! please a fix now!!!
